Those who know me well know that when I obsess over something, I truly obsess. If it's a song, I will overplay it more than the radio. If it's an Iced Coffee Mocha with cream and sugar with whipped cream from Dunkin Donuts, I will have one-a-day for months. And if it's a haircare product, I will use nothing else and talk about it incessantly.
Which brings me to my first review and recommendation for this blog. My absolute, must-have, favorite haircare product: Wen Cleansing Conditioner.
Which brings me to my first review and recommendation for this blog. My absolute, must-have, favorite haircare product: Wen Cleansing Conditioner.
I have been using Wen for at least three years and it is the secret to my long, luscious locks. I have very thick, course, naturally-curly hair that always seems to be seeking moisture. I straighten my hair about twice a week (occasionally more) but the damage from blow-dryers and flat irons continue to take their toll on my poor strands and split ends. This product is THE cure for dry spells.
Trust me.
When Wen (heh) says to pump between 16-32 times, you bet I squeeze that pump 32 times. The soft formula infuses the hair as you let it sit anywhere from three to five minutes. Me, I like to let it sit in for at least 8-10 minutes and I use it as somewhat of a mask. Wen is designed to take the place of shampoo and conditioner as it cleanses and moisturizes; I, however, enjoy using a various cleansing shampoo at least once a week so I use this product mostly as a conditioner every time I shower.
Tip: As with every conditioner, make sure to use a wide-toothed comb to distribute the product evenly. This is something I've noticed most people skip over, but I promise you will be able to tell the difference in product distribution and the overall touch and quality of your hair. People always compliment my hair, and I wish I could tell them it's all about the conditioning products & how to use them properly. (Another tip: Wen can be used as a leave-in conditioner. Try it!)
Wen is lightweight, non-greasy, and smells incredible. (My favorite scent is lavender, pictured above.) I order through QVC.com but also have given it as gifts and purchased items separately from the Wen website. The entire line can be found at http://www.wenhaircare.com and let me tell you, Chaz Dean knows what he's doing. I have used the styling cremes following Wen, and my hair hasn't felt softer.
Wen can be pricey, but I promise it is worth it. Order in the 30-day supply packages to try it out (on their website, this costs approximately $30.) If you just want to use the conditioner, I'd suggest ordering off a home-shopping channel or Amazon, where a 16 oz. bottle goes for a little over $30 or the 32 oz. runs around $60.
