Favorite Fragrance

There is a very special place in my heart (and on my bedroom shelves) for perfumes and fragrances. I love experimenting with new scents and for some reason, even if I end up hating the way it smells, I'll keep the perfume bottles forever on display. There are a few classics that I love on everyone; for example, Burberry Brit Eau de Toilette 1.7 oz. has a clean and feminine scent that really just flatters everybody. (The 1.7 oz runs about $60-62 in stores like Sephora and Ulta.)

This summer, I received a perfume sample of Roberto Cavalli's self-titled perfume and I immediately fell in love. In fact, I'm ready to buy another bottle and I will need one stat.

I purchased the 1.0 oz for $48 in Ulta stores but now I know better and I should have purchased the larger, 1.7 oz.  bottle since I love this product so much. It is the perfect evening fragrance but also, with a light spritz, is perfect during the day. The scent is not too heavy, making it a great transitioning perfume from summer to fall to winter.

Plus, look how cute the bottle it. Classy and simple.

Perfect.

According to the product details on Macys.com, this perfume is "addictive, sensual and radiant. . . It is an exuberant and sunny fragrance whose top notes, lit by pink peppers, exude a genuine strength of character. Vibrant and sensual, it exhilarates and mesmerizes from the very first contact. Some women wait for the world to move them. She moves the world and makes heads turn. Sexy, sophisticated, she turns her excesses into elegance. She is the Roberto Cavalli woman. "

And indeed I am.

Pure Bliss

This May, courtesy of my mother, I discovered Bliss spa brand products. I am in LOVE with everything this brand has to offer. I use their "No Zit Sherlock" facial cleanser and moisturizer every day and I love how gentle the products are on my skin.

When my mother approached me with the Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter today, I can say that I was rather skeptical. I don't mess around with lotions. Lotions are a huge staple in my daily routine and once I find a certain lotion I like, it is very difficult for me to branch out and try other products. I have stuck with Johnson & Johnson's lotion for about five years but I was willing to give Bliss Body Butter a try. For the sake of this blog, if you will.

Here is the sample size, the 1.7 fl oz tube of Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter. You can see the glisten of the lotion (body butter, if you must stick with proper terminology) on my fingertips. Don't let that fool you! The product was not greasy at all.

Again, here is a small dollop on my skin. The dime size amount was perfect to cover my entire arm/hand/elbow, which surprised me. However, I tend to go overboard on these products so I really went to town and used about 3x this much on my legs.

One of the reasons I am wary about body butters in general is because of their thicker consistency. I usually like my lotions light and airy, non-greasy and I don't want it to be a hassle to put on. I am happy to report that Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter exceeded my expectations. It was not a typical, thick or hard to apply body butter but had a more lightweight consistency. The fragrance was nice as well; the lemon-sage scent was not too strong and had a very relaxing aroma. The scent would be reason enough to buy this product and slather it on before bed.

My skin is very soft after using this product. Granted, I always pride myself on soft skin (I empty 12 oz. bottles of lotion every month) but this is definitely a nice change. My legs have that slight glisten on them still, four hours after applying the body butter.  Overall, I like this product. I will still probably use my regular lotion but I can definitely see me using this lotion before bed or as a travel-size necessity. Give it a try!
