Summer is the perfect opportunity to experiment with nail polish colors. I have always considered myself to be a strict pink-only nail girl but the trends in the past two years have caused me to change my ways. Last summer, I experimented with pastels of blues and greens and this summer, I am known for wearing these ocean-inspired hues.
One of my all time favorites is Essie's Turquoise & Caicos, $8.
Turquoise & Caicos is light and bright without being too "in-your-face."

This summer, Essie's "Bikini So Teeny" has been selling out in stores and on their website. It actually took me two trips to Ulta in order to pick up this shade. I love the soft blue shade and it is perfect for the beach.
Essie nail polish is a must-have in my beauty collection. Although Essie can be pricey ($8 on the Essie website and at Ulta, $7.79 at Target) these nail polishes are my favorite. The colors are soft, flatter just about everybody's skin tone; Essie just screams "feminism." In addition, the polish is not sticky, goopy, or hard to apply. Application is difficult with some low-quality nail polishes due to their thicker consistency, which makes it hard to apply even, thin coats of color. I never seem to have a problem with Essie.
However, I'm still in the process of learning how to paint my nails with my left hand without it looking like a 3 year old came through.
